Illustratie voor de Twentsche Courant Tubantia. Door een lopend conflict tussen het ziekenhuis en de zorgverzekeraar kunnen patiënten niet langer behandeld worden. Zij zijn de dupe van deze strijd tussen twee zwaargewichten.

In 2017 zal ik voor het eerst optreden als ontwerper in het bloemencorso van Lichtenvoorde. Samen met corsogroep Kwintet gaan we de uitdaging aan om hier een unieke creatie te presenteren. Aan de hand van deze banner brengen wij vast de titel van het ontwerp naar buiten. Het geeft een hint naar wat “Dwaallicht” zal gaan worden, zonder dit op voorhand te verklappen. De ontwerptekening zal binnenkort volgen, waarop de maquette voor begin volgend jaar op het agenda staat.
// For the very first time I’m about to enter the Flower Parade at Lichtenvoorde (Netherlands) as a designer. Together with the crew of ‘Kwintet’ we are taking on the challenge to building an unique float. Through this banner I made we announce our collaboration and the title for the upcoming float. The illustration gives you an idea what “Dwaallicht” (*) is about, without giving away that much. Soon the actual design will be online as well, followed by the scale model at te beginning of 2017.
* The title is somewhat of a Dutch pun, but can best be described as a false light…

The Cartoon Movement bracht mij op de hoogte van de campagne rondom de Iraanse cartoonist Eaten Fish. Met bovenstaande cartoon heb ik hierin een bijdrage willen leveren.

Ik ben gevraagd om voor een jarige vader uit Zundert een cadeau te maken. Het ging om een dubbelpotret van zijn beide kinderen, met daarin een knipoog naar mijn “Krachtstroom” ontwerp voor het bloemencorso van Zundert. Met inkt heb ik deze onderdelen op papier samen laten komen in deze tekening op A2-formaat.
// I’ve been asked to create a double portret as a birthday gift for a father of two. Also, they’ve asked me to make it refer to my “Krachtstroom” design for the annual Flower Parade in the City of Zundert. As the designer of this particulair float, this was right up my alley. Here’s the end result, A2-sized ink on paper drawing.
Illustratie voor De Twentsche Courant Tubantia. Het artikel schrijft over een mislukte ontsnappingspoging. Een vermoedelijk gebroken pols zou aanleiding zijn voor een ziekenhuisbezoek, waar na het maken van röntgenfoto’s, de geboeide gedetineerde tevergeefs probeerde te ontsnappen.

Er is bedacht om de dieren uit de logo’s van beide partijen elkaar te lijf te laten gaan, om dit ook in beeld uit te drukken. Ik ben gevraagd om dit idee uit te werken en hier is het resultaat.

The idea came up to borrow the animals from the logo’s of both parties, and let them fight each other as a way to illustrate current events. I’ve been aksed to make this work and here is the result.

Een illustratie bij een artikel van de TC Tubantia over een persoonlijke alarmknop. Het systeem is bedacht om mensen een gevoel van veiligheid terug te geven, wanneer ze in onveilige situaties leven. Deze mensen staan met een druk op de knop in contact met hulpinstanties.
